Web Support and Training Specialist

You will be responsible for supporting and training our content management and web design clients around the world.

NOTE: This is not strictly a Perl job, but rather has Perl as one of it's requirements, and has the potential to have more and more Perl as your skills increase. So if you're a Perl newbie, and have the other skills needed, this is a great job for you to get some real world experience with Perl, and you can eventually get promoted up to a full status programmer on our staff.

Job Description
You will be responsible for supporting and training our content management and web design clients around the world. You will train them to use our software, teach them web templating and web design concepts, and help them work through publishing and design problems that they encounter. You will be the expert that our clients will look to for mentoring and support in their publishing process.

In addition to your primary role, you'll work on all kinds of web design and publishing projects as time permits. There is also plenty of opportunity for advancement.

Compensation
This position pays between $30,000 and $45,000 per year to start depending upon experience. In addition, we provide full medical overage, profit sharing, flexible paid time off, high end laptops, and telecommuting.

Job Requirements

Required Skills
Do not apply if you do not have the skills below.

  • Amazingly strong computer usage skills with web browsers, office suites, design programs, and general computer usage.
  • A strong working knowledge of XHTML and CSS.
  • Extreme patience and customer service skills to work with clients who are not at your skill level and help them achieve success.
  • Prior experience with web design and publishing.
  • The ability to learn quickly as we'll be providing constant on the job training to keep your skills sharp and fresh. Whatever your skills and experience levels are now, they'll double within three months of coming on the job.

Additional Requirements
These things will also be required for all successful applicants.

  • US Citizenship. Because we work on many government projects with sensitive information, you must be a US Citizen, without a criminal record, and without financial trouble in order to pass Federal security scrutiny.
  • Flexible schedule. Since our customers are around the world we staff shifts around the clock. The more flexible you can be with your work schedule, the more competitive you will be in the hiring process.
  • Travel. Though infrequent, in some instances we may need you to travel to a client's site to provide training and support. You need to be willing to take all expenses paid trips to locations around the country and around the world from time to time.

Additional Skills
Any of the following skills will give you additional consideration during the hiring process.

  • A working knowledge of Perl.
  • A good working knowledge of Javascript and AJAX.
  • A good working knowledge of SQL.
  • Prior experience with WebGUI.
  • Prior experience with training and/or support.
