Don't forget we've got a meeting this week, and we're at a new
location. We're trying out AltnBachs town tap between Fish Hatch and
Gammon off the beltline. The address and map can be found on the event
on the meetings calendar.
We'll be meeting at 6:45 and Frank Dillon will be giving a talk about
object-oriented Perl. This was a request from the MadMongers members.
If you're looking to take yourself from a novice Perl programmer to an
intermediate, Perl objects are a must learn.

You guys are great, but I don't think I can make anymore meetings.
I recently joined the volunteer fire department. They meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday each month. Which, unfortunately conflicts with the madmongers meetings.
But I plan to stay active on the mailing list and if anyone can put together a power point and mp3 of the meetings I think they'd be of great use to those that can't make it. As well as for people to go back and check out things they have forgotten. I found some you've done already on the site and they were very informative.
You guys are great. let me know of anymore informal meetings you've got. I'll make sure I'm there.

Wed's I have class, and Thurs are either VFW or VFD meetings. So for me, all other nights work fine.
I guess the only thing we can do is get a list of what nights are NOT good for people, then schedule a night that works for the most amount of people.

I'm fairly flexible, but the 2nd Thursday thing works OK for me right now.

I've always wanted to attend, but I can never make it on Thursdays.
Wednesdays will be bad this summer as well. I suspect that you will
have a hard time finding a day that works for everyone, so why not mix
it up?

Having it on a consistent night is key to keeping attendance high.
This is a documented fact about meeting planning. It's much easier to
plan to be there if you know when it is every month so you can plan
around it in advance.

I would agree that a fixed schedule is important, however, what about doing the fixed monthly meeting and having (assuming there's interest) floating, casual get togethers monthly, or however often people are inclined, like the one we did in Feb @ Altn Bach's.

That would be cool, and I'd be happy to attend, but I wouldn't want to
be in charge of scheduling those events. Perhaps you or Andy would
like to take over that duty?
