Yes, but I figured that since I sent it with only half an hour left in the day and well past the listed time that would be obvious.

I'll be giving a talk on how to write a Facebook app in 10 minutes or less. I'll cover Facebook::Graph and few other great Perl modules.

See you there.

Once again, JT, you underestimate the ability of this crowd to nitpick.  :-)  I thought the same thing as Jon.

The Meeting Status Report

Tonight we did quite a bit of socializing before the talk. Most everyone showed up about a half hour early and it was nice to talk about random stuff. We spoke about the thing Martin posted to the list (graphing/images/repost/download/whatever), and how some things you wish weren't on the internet (check out 123people.com), which lead to the discussion about why Chris may or may not be running a porn studio and why Martin was "forced" to get a Facebook account. All in all it was a good time, but you really had to be there for any of what I just said to make any sense.

Anyway, my Facebook talk went really well, although it would have gone much better if I had just shown the Facebook app in the beginning before I started talking about how to develop Facebook apps. For future reference (mostly a note to self), do demos at the beginning of a talk, not at the end. You can always do a demo at the end if people have questions, but a lot of questions could be answered up front if you just demo at the beginning.

In this talk I covered Facebook::Graph in detail. I also showed how to develop a Dancer app. And briefly discussed why XML::FeedPP rules and why Data::ICal is the bizzaro opposite of XML::FeedPP, but still works somehow.

Next month I will finally be giving my super secret surprise talk. Martin says it can't possibly live up to the hype. I submit that I haven't hyped it enough! You'll have to show up next month to find out which of us is right.

And then in October Frank will be giving a talk on modified SCRUMM project management.

And I pointed out that I've done a pretty good job of keeping my
online persona clean.... until Google gets a hold of that statement
above.  :-)

Oh, come on, - nobody thought that "tonight" posted at 11:30 PM could
really mean , er, [counts backwards on fingers] 4 and half hours
earlier, we just want to point out that you left that interpretation
open to us.  As what's his name on the Simpsons would say "Hah ha!"
... "Haw haw"? However that laugh gets transcribed.

Though explicit dates are always a good idea ... esp. with this crowd. ;->

D'oh!!!!  Look, I'm hooked on the suspense for next month, so,
assuming I get the reminder in time, I'll be there.  I guess I can
find a baby, er, pre-teen-sitter for one night.
