work for the UW

I noticed that a few of you work for the UW.   I'm thinking of applying for the UW job listed under the 'jobs' section, but I noticed it said a Bachelor's degree is required.

I've applied at a few jobs before where they said a degree was required, but experience could get you in without one.  Do any of you know how strict the UW is on that?

I don't have my degree right now.  I'm working towards it, but I'm still in school.

Thanks for the help

I applied for a uw job 7 years ago without my degree. Got an interview and was asked to leave at the start when the realized I had no degree.

Not what I was hoping to hear.  I guess the worst they can do is say no.

FWIW, not everyone that works at the UW has a degree.  A common way to
get your foot in the door is to work as a student employee.  If the
permanent positions require a degree, then try applying for an LTE
position or project appointment.

Actually, I believe, it's actually against the rules to require a degree
for a *CLASSIFIED* position.  It's a regular state job, so "or
applicable experience" applies.

*ACADEMIC* positions can and usually do require a degree.  Most of the
time, a job outside of the Administrative organizations (DoIT, Business
Services, Facilities, Vice Chancellor for Administration, Athletics?),
all of the jobs are academic.

For example (an example that contradicts my statement above, since it's
from L&S):

Or, one for transfer:
